FAQ
Q: What is a Wordy Plate?
It’s a rescued, pre-loved plate with a brand-new attitude. We upcycle old dishes; each one hand-selected and hand-lettered with a cheeky phrase. Giving them a second life as sassy, sustainable art. No two are exactly alike, but they all bring the charm (and a little side-eye).
Heads up: These plates are for display only—they’re not food safe.
Q: Why can't I eat off a Wordy Plate?
As much as we'd love for you to use your Wordy Plate for snacks, it’s not food-safe. Since these plates are pre-loved and upcycled, they may have been painted or sealed in a way that isn’t suitable for direct contact with food.
Q: How do I clean a Wordy Plate?
To keep your Wordy Plate looking its best, simply wipe it gently with a damp cloth. Avoid using harsh cleaners or submerging it in water, as that could damage the design. Remember, it’s a piece of art, not a dish for your meals!
Q: Can I do local pickup?
Heck yes! We’re in Vancouver, Washington, and totally down for a handoff that skips the shipping. Just shoot us a message before you order so we can work out the details (like where, when, and whether we high-five or wave awkwardly).
Q: What is your shipping policy?
Each Wordy Plate is packed with great care to ensure it arrives safely. We ship all orders within 5 days of purchase, so your new piece of art will be on its way to you before you know it!
As a small business with small margins, we do charge for shipping. However, we always strive to find the best deals for you and keep costs as low as possible. Thank you for supporting a handmade, sustainable brand!
Q: What is your return policy?
Due to the one-of-a-kind, vintage nature of our plates, we are unable to accept returns. Each plate is carefully selected and crafted to be as unique as you are.
However, if your Wordy Plate arrives damaged or broken, please contact us immediately. We’ll make it right and ensure you’re happy with your purchase.

Q: Where do you find the plates?
We are modern day treasure hunters! Our plates come from all kinds of places: estate sales, garage sales, donations, and thrift stores. We search high and low to find unique, vintage pieces that deserve a second life. Each plate is handpicked for its character, charm, and potential to become a work of art.
Q: Do you accept plate donations?
Yes, please, and thank you! If you’re in the Vancouver, Washington area and have pre-loved plates looking for a second act, we’d love to give them a new life. Just shoot us a message to coordinate the handoff (and earn some good plate karma).
Q: Where do you find your sayings?
We gather our sayings from all over the place: current trends, the internet, movies, books, TV shows, and sometimes just a good old-fashioned dose of everyday humor. If it’s clever, snarky, or inspirational, we’ll probably turn it into art. It’s all about adding a little wit to your space!
